Red: The Symbol of Power, Happiness, and Vitality

Enjoy the Lunar New Year celebrations in the modern home with traditional colors, symbols, and foods. Sweep away the bad luck by cleaning your house in full prior midnight on the eve of your guests arrival. Don’t forget to clean the windows and adorn with red cutouts for luck and happiness. Red paper lanterns can hang throughout your space to drive off the bad luck. Blooming flowers can be displayed as a sign of prosperity for the new year. Branches of plum blossoms, orchids, peonies, and peach blossoms are traditionally displayed. Kumquat trees or bowls of the fruit signify wealth and should be placed in abundance. Exchange your red envelopes with friends and family over a traditional meal. Fish is a must and symbolizes abundance while dumplings can be shared as a sign of prosperity. And last but not least, cheers with a glass of neat Baijiu to the Year of the Rabbit.
